This Privacy Policy explains how Brilliance Direct LLC, doing business as "Métier" ("we," "us"), handles information in connection with the Métier service (the "Service"). It applies to our customers in the United States.
1. The two kinds of data we handle
It helps to distinguish two roles:
- Information about you, our customer — the account and billing details of the business and users who subscribe to Métier. We act as the controller of this information.
- Customer Data you upload — records about your customers and contacts (names, business contact details, purchase and visit history, and the content of messages). We process this on your behalf and under your instructions to provide the Service; you control it.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email, business name, role, territory, and login credentials (stored securely; passwords are hashed by our authentication provider).
- Billing information: subscription plan and status. Payment-card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us; we receive limited information such as billing status and identifiers.
- Customer Data you enter: the account, contact, visit, quote, order, task, and message records you create or import.
- Usage and device data: basic technical information needed to operate and secure the Service (for example, log data and approximate location derived from your device when you use map or route features).
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your workspace.
- To process subscriptions and payments and manage the billing lifecycle.
- To generate AI-assisted features you request (see Section 4).
- To provide support and communicate with you about the Service.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
If we offer opt-in, anonymized industry benchmarks, those use only aggregated figures that cannot identify any individual business, and participation is your choice.
4. AI features and your data
Métier uses AI to generate pre-visit briefings, draft messages, and extract structured suggestions from inbound emails. When you use these features, the relevant Customer Data needed for the task is transmitted to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its API to generate the output, which is returned to you.
Under our agreement with Anthropic for API use, your inputs and the generated outputs are processed to provide the result and are not used to train Anthropic's models. We do not sell your data or use Customer Data to train models. AI features are assistive: you remain in control and should review output before relying on or sending it. See our AI Disclosure for more.
5. Service providers (sub-processors)
We share information with vendors who help us run the Service, only as needed:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
- Cloudflare — application hosting and content delivery.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Anthropic — AI processing for the features described above.
- Email providers you connect (Gmail / Google Workspace, or Outlook / Microsoft 365) — only if you choose to enable email sending. We request a narrow permission that lets Métier send the messages you compose and approve, from your own address. We do not read, store, organize, or otherwise access the rest of your mailbox. Métier's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Our use of data obtained through Microsoft Graph is similarly limited to sending the messages you approve and complies with Microsoft's API terms. You can disconnect your inbox at any time from the Connections screen, which revokes this access. (If we later add reply-reading, we will update this section and the requested permissions before doing so.)
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Data isolation and security
Each customer's workspace is logically isolated so that one business cannot access another's data; this isolation is enforced at the database level. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. [Counsel/security to confirm specifics.]
7. Data retention
We keep account and Customer Data for as long as your subscription is active. If your subscription is canceled, your operational data is retained for 90 days to allow reactivation, after which it is permanently deleted. We may retain limited records (such as billing history) longer where required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access and update most account and Customer Data within the Service, and you can export or delete data. You may cancel at any time. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights — for example, California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, access, delete, and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us using the details below. [Confirm state-law coverage with counsel.]
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage necessary to keep you signed in and operate the Service. If we later add analytics, we will update this Policy and provide any required choices.
10. Children
The Service is for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app, and the effective date above will be updated.
